Mare and Foal - TIBBP Medallion
 
This Sculpture is a donation piece.
 
I have donated 100% of my sculpting time and Deb and Randy Buckler of Resins By Randy are casting copies of this medallion at cost.  $15 from the sale of each of these models will be donated to The International Blessed Broodmare Project, a charity set up to help ex-PMU horses who are looking for new homes after the fall of the PMU industry left them homeless.
 
The medallion depicts a heavy cross breed mare and her very young, fuzzy foal; many of the PMU mares are in foal so I wanted to portray the happy future we are trying to bring to these horses.  There is a Comfrey flower to one side of the mare and a few dandelion leaves on the base too.  The Comfrey flower symbolises "Healing", "Growing Together" and "To Unite", which I feel is very fitting for this piece.  The dandelions don't symbolise anything except for the tasty treats I'm sure the horses can look forward to plenty of in theire new homes.
 
This model measures approx. 4"/10cm tall, 5"/12.5cm wide and is up to 2"/5cm thick.
The model can be displayed either displayed/mounted or free-standing.
